Trade Winds to Martinique; One Year in the West Indies
One of the best years of my life was when by fate, I was assigned to work at a school in a small seaside town of 2,000 people on the island of Martinique in the French Caribbean. Many balmy nights spent camping on sandy beaches, dips in crystal clear turquoise waters, and treks through the dense jungle. A great deal of my ceramic pieces are inspired by creole architecture and its use of bright, vibrant color. This part of my blog is dedicated to that transformative year spent there.
